Lara began studying economics and social history at the University of Geneva in 2001. She spent the winter semester (2004/2005) at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. After graduating in 2007, she worked in Geneva as Public Relations Coordinator Events & Visits for Jaeger-LeCoultre, a Swiss watch maker. She later moved to Canada and became a Canadian citizen. She works in the field of public relations and communications.
