Gottardo Giovanetti emigrated to Victoria in 1857. In
Victoria he first sought gold, then managed the Blue Lion Inn in Newstead and later on
became a farmer in the Strangways area
Gottardo married three times and had eight children. His second son (first son died at 1 year old), Constantine William, emigrated to
South Africa where he became mayor of Pretoria.
