Notes for Vincenzo Carlo VANONI
Carlo's father, Carlo Philipo Antonio, fathered 13 children. Vincenzo Carlo was the first child of his second wife, Mariangela Negranti. Vincenzo Carlo owned the Hotel Roma, 36 East Houston Street in New York, however his occupation is listed as a typographer in 1876. Vincenzo Carlo's half nephew, Ferdinando Giovanni Vanoni, (the son of Vincenzo Carlo's half brother, Andrea) also worked at the Roma Hotel.

When he returned to Aurigeno in 1880 with his young wife and two children he was already verty sick and died a few years later, leaving Maria Zanfretta a widow with two small children, Charlie and a daughter (Bianca Giulietta).

* Resided in NYC from at least 1874-1877
* Married Mary M. Zanfretta in 1874
* Died of consumption in Berlin while on tour with his wife in 1886 (newspaper articles, also mentioning he was a stenographer before helping his wife with her career)

*** From 1872-1875, John was proprietor of Hotel Roma at 36 E. Houston Street, New York, NY (Charles was proprietor with John during 1874-75 and by himself through 1877)

- 1872: newspaper ads list Hotel Roma at 36 E. Houston Street with proprietors G. Vercelli et Vanoni (the newspaper was a French language local, Courant or something similar, can provide later)
- 1872: NYC directory confirms residence of John Vanoni and Joseph Vercelli at 36 E. Houston with occupation of 'hotel'

- 1874: newspaper ads list Hotel Roma at '34 et 36' E. Houston Street with proprietors C & G Vanoni (it switches from G. Vercelli et Vanoni sometime in 1874)
- 1874: NYC directory confirms residence of Giovani and Charles Vanoni at 34 E. Houston with occupation of 'hotel'

- 1875: no newspaper ads beyond 1874 found
- 1875: NYC directory confirms residence of Giovani and Charles Vanoni at 34 E. Houston with occupation of 'hotel'

Notes for Maria (Spouse 1)
Maria, a well-known opera singer and dancer, was known as La Cantarina. In November, 1885, she was part of the Bijou Theater Opera Company and appeared at Stetson's Fifth Avenue Theater (Manhattan, NY) in the play "Orpheus and Eurydice."
