VANONI, Giovanni Antonio (Painter)
This is one of many wayside capellas painted by Giovanni Vanoni. It is located along the road between Aurigeno and Gordevio, Switzerland. Notice the Vanoni coat-of-arms near the top of the capella.
This fan with an undated painting by G. A. Vanoni was sold on eBay in November, 2009 for $613. It was found in the estate of a lady from Seattle, Washington. The lady had been a perfume representative who traveled to France during the 1960's and 1970's. Her hobby was collecting fans. The buyer of this fan lives in the Netherlands.
Painted on Cardboard, this Vanoni painting was discovered after being lost in someone’s attic for many years. It is extremely fragile, and, for that reason, it is stored in a vault at the Lugano Museum of Art.
